Hi, I'm new to this forum, but I just looooooooooove Nek! He is my all time favorite singer :D :D :D :D :D :D . My name is Annelise, and I live in the U.S. I speak no Italian :cry: (I'm learning) but there is just something about Nek's songs and voice that is amazing. I cannot put into words how much I enjoy his music. He is a true original, and no one else can compare. AND, he's not that bad looking :wink: . I have a question for the people in this forum. This is one of my biggest pet peeves :x :x :evil: , when people compare Nek to Sting. I don't see the resemblence in their voices and Nek is a waaaay better singer. You can't simply write Nek off as a Sting sound alike. They are two completely different artists. My question: Is anyone else annoyed by this?

Well, my opinion is: let the peoplejust talk..... I don't feel annoyed by this, because I like Sting too.... but, I think that you just can't compare them... nek is nek, and sting is sting..... :wink:

i can't say that i am annoyed when ppl compare nek to sting... i just don't understand it. i can't say also that i don't like sting... i just don't care about him :) and i also don't see any kind of likness between them, i think they are totally defferent with their look, voice and music!! and the most what i can't understand is why nek wants to sing with sting!! :P :wink:

Thanks for answering back to my post! I hope to make a lot of friends on this site. :) About my message, the only reason that it bothers me that Nek is compared to Sting, is because every review of one of his albums or something that I read always compares the two of them. I don't see the resemblence in their voices at all. I also like Sting (not as much as Nek), but when people read about Nek and his music, I don't want them to see Nek as a wannabe Sting. He is clearly different. Everytime, its this Sting sound alike or he sounds just like Sting, come on! Give Nek credit for his art.

I'm new here too, and from the US, but I'm actually getting pretty fluent in Spanish (listening to "Laura no esta" on repeat helps a bit...LOL...and my spanish teacher's thinking I'm getting really into the language....then again, my friends translate lyrics to Spanish for fun...) so

Hey Annelise, how's it going? I'm from the U.S. (Long Island) as well & love NEK's Music. I first heard him singing in Spanish, but it is SO much better in Italian.
Well, to me Italian is the most beautiful language there is, so I'm trying to learn it as well. Good luck to you!

wow, that's great. Well, for me, now's the time for to decide what next. Next month there are exams for universities so...I have to study really hard. I wish and hope to study english and croatian (literature)...I like languages (but as you can see I can not vary polish and hungarian, haha :) I also thought about history or archeology. But languges are my first choice! :) And I think I had mentioned that, but anyway if I find a time, I will definitely learn italian because I really like it and it bothers me that I can understand nek's songs! (I can, but not so much :(

I think- No. when you know English, you can communicate with every nation- luckily - right now all nations can communicate easily!!! I know this because I am involved in international business and ALL speak English. I study Italian by myself, but not much :-( lack of time always :-( This is common problem of ALL people.....What about you?? Are you going to study only English???
